Laser dentistry is the latest advancement in dental technology. The lasers we use in laser dentistry at our practice are an alternative to the common hand-held scalpel. These lasers direct an invisible energy beam onto problem areas and allow us to effectively treat gums. The benefit of laser dentistry is that they minimize the pain most often associated with dental procedures, meaning more comfort to our patients. Dental lasers have been approved by the food and drug administration and are safe for both adults and children.

 Dr. Neely uses a soft-tissue laser to comfortably and effectively perform a variety of dental procedures. The laser is Dr. Neely’s tool of choice to recontour  gum lines, perform tooth reshaping, treat canker sores and fever blisters, remove suspicious lesions, and more.

The soft tissue laser can also be employed to destroy bacteria in gum pockets, preventing infection and allowing the tissue to return to a healthy state.

Laser dentistry is more comfortable than traditional dental surgery. Because the laser seals and sterilizes tissue as it goes, there’s minimal bleeding and no need for stitches. Procedure and recovery time are fast, and most patients resume their normal activities quickly following laser surgery. Many patients report that they feel virtually no discomfort during or after treatment with our soft-tissue laser.
